The Red Dot Design Awards are a rather prestigious program that recognizes products of all shapes and sizes for their design excellence, functionality, and innovation. Kaleidescpae announced this week that their Strato V movie player was selected in the 2025 edition of the global program.
“We’re honored that Strato V has been recognized with the Red Dot Award for Product Design,” Tayloe Stansbury, chairman and CEO of Kaleidescape, said in a statement. “This award validates our commitment to excellence, not only in the reference-quality experience we deliver but in how we design and engineer our products. Strato V reflects our belief that high performance and beautiful design should go hand in hand.”
The Red Dot Jury, which is composed of leading international design experts, evaluates entries, assessing them on criteria that includes level of innovation, formal quality, functionality, and sustainability. As a recipient of a 2025 Red Dot Award, the Strato V will be featured in the Red Dot Design Yearbook, on the Red Dot website, and will be on display at the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, Germany.
Not to be confused with the recently launched, Strato E, the Strato V is Kaleidescape’s flagship 4K movie streamer, providing 4K Dolby Vision playback with lossless audio. Like other media streamers in the company’s portfolio, the Strato V is capable of functioning as a standalone player or as part of a larger Kaleidescape system. As a standalone player, the Strato V can store up to 10 reference 4K movies on its internal solid-state drive. To learn more about the Red Dot Design Awards, check out their website.
