SwitchBot Announces New Multitasking Household Robot K20+ Pro

A generalized household robot, like Rosy the Robot from the 1960s Jetsons cartoon, is probably not something each of us will have in our homes in the near future. While advancements in AI and robotics are bringing the possibility of a general-purpose household robot closer, the cost of a robot with all the capabilities of Rosy would, today, be prohibitive for the average person.

However, SwitchBot has taken us a step closer to this reality with their announcement of the official launch of their Multitasking Household Robot K20+ Pro that was shown at the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

The core of the system is SwitchBot’s K20+ Pro robotic vacuum. The K20+ Pro is equipped with D-ToF Lidar Navigation and dual laser sensors. It maps a home with centimeter-level precision and works with Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri, and the broader SwitchBot smart home ecosystem.

The FusionPlatform mounts on top of the K20+ Pro and provides an interface for:

  • Delivery Assistant: Delivery of payloads including food, drinks and small packages up to 8kg (approximately 17-1/2 pounds).
  • Mobile Security: The FusionPlatform can be used with a SwitchBot Pan/Tilt Cam Plus 2K or 3K camera to create a mobile security platform that provides real-time monitoring, motion detection, and smart phone notifications.
  • Mobile Air Purification: The Fusion Platform can be used with the SwitchBot Air Purifier Series to create an air purification system that can travel between rooms.
  • Mobile Cooling/Comfort: The Fusion Platform can be used with the SwitchBot Battery Circulator fan to circulate air throughout a living space and to keep people cool as they move between rooms in a home.
  • DIY Platform: The FusionPlatform is designed to be integrated with custom-made attachments and 3D-printed modules. It includes power ports that can power user designed components. Later in the year, SwitchBot will host a contest for DIY enthusiasts to design and present their creative ways to utilize the K20+ Pro.

Of course, the K20+ Pro can still be used to vacuum a home.

Pre-orders for the SwitchBot K20+ Pro can be placed on SwitchBot’s official website, with multiple kit options to choose from. Pricing starts at $699.99 with different pricing for different kits that combine the K20+ Pro with other SwitchBot products.
