PoEWit Technologies, a manufacturer of PoE lighting, PoE motion detectors, and custom AV networking solutions, today has released the NS-8B, a Layer 3 PoE switch with fast switching speeds and what the company says is the largest power supply in its class.

Offering 500 Watts of PoE power, the 12-port, enterprise-class switch has eight 90-Watt PoE ports with Gigabit speeds and four 10G SFP+ uplink ports for long-distance connections. Its engine and large PoE budget enable AV systems to run IP applications at hyper-switching speeds.

“Our NS-8B fills a long-time void in the custom electronics space,” said Victor Pak, Co-CEO of PoEWit. “It’s a smaller-port-count, L3 switch that can deliver 90 Watts of PoE per port. It’s built to connect high-powered PoE devices, such as LED lights, new generation Wi-Fi 6 access points, digital signage, and industrial PCs.

Just one single PoE port on the NS-8B can power up to eight of PoEWit’s recessed or architectural lights, thanks to the their unique PoE pass-through capability. This feature enables the lights to not only receive power from the NS-8B, but to additionally send power to other PoE lights or devices in a daisy chain configuration.

With a total PoE power supply of 500 Watts, the NS-8B can power up to 50 of PoEWit’s PoE lights on just eight of its 12 ports. The remaining four ports support long-distance connections with 10G SFP+.

Quick guide videos for all PoEWit solutions can be viewed here.
