Premium Audio Company has released a firmware update for many of its Integra, Onkyo, and Pioneer audio video receivers (AVRs) that will improve the functionality, connectivity, and the overall user experience. Firmware updates allow users to optimize Klipsch architectural speakers, enhance custom integration functionality and ease of use, and improve display performance.

Klipsch speakers are touted for their ability to reproduce the power, detail, and emotion of the live music experience. In addition to the new Klipsch Reference Premiere and Reference speakers, Integra and Onkyo AVRs now include the precise crossover values for Klipsch Custom, Design, Pro, and THX architectural speakers, as well as the new Klipsch Reference Premiere subwoofers, eliminating any guesswork or sometimes arbitrary settings assigned by many automatic room calibration solutions.

According to the Premium Audio Company , it’s easy to set up in the AVR menu and the result is peak performance out of already amazing-sounding speakers.

AVRs with Klipsch Optimized Mode for Klipsch architectural products include the Onkyo TX-RZ70, TX-RZ50, TX-NR7100, TX-NR6100, TX-NR5100, and TX-NR6050 and Integra DRX-8.4, DRX-5.4, DRX-3.4, and DRX-2.4.

Premium Audio Company engineers have significantly expanded Integra AVR’s CI functionality, as well. Installing and customizing premium home entertainment experiences was simplified with the ability to access web setup by IP address from any browser-based device. Additions to web setup in the latest firmware include HDCP timing adjustments to increase the compatibility across connected devices. Also, a sink test now includes bandwidth to determine maximum resolution of signal over cable runs. A Firmware Update command now available within Web Setup.

Additional improvements include Input Skip functionality, which was added to minimize user error. Also, a control protocol addition for Dirac selection so users can compare Dirac curves more easily (Dirac equipped models only).

AVRs with CI improvements include the Integra DRX 8.4, DRX-5.4, DRX-3.4, and DRX-2.4.

With the firmware update, Integra, Onkyo, and Pioneer now have additional on-screen and app displays to enhance user experience and improve gaming experiences. With added Gaming Awareness specs on the On-Screen Display, users will now see feedback from the AVR to ensure the gaming system is proving the exact settings you’ve selected including Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR).

HDMI Source-Based Tone Mapping (SBTM) information has also been added to info (video) display, in addition to other minor improvements to enhance overall system stability.

AVRs with advanced user features, Bluetooth Connectivity improvements include the Onkyo TX-RZ70, TX-RZ50, TX-NR7100, TX-NR6100, TX-NR5100, and TX-NR6050, Integra DRX 8.4, DRX-5.4, DRX-3.4, and DRX-2.4, and Pioneer Elite VSX-LX805, VSX-LX505, VSX-LX305, VSX-LX105, and VSX-LX935.
