Somfy, the manufacturer of motors for interior window coverings and exterior solar protections, has launched magnetic charging options for its V2 Li-ion Embedded Motors and Li-ion External Battery Pack.

The new accessories include an adaptor cable for use with the traditional V2 Li-ion motors and external Li-ion battery pack. A rigid extension cable with magnetic contact makes it easier to connect the V2 charger to the motor or battery, depending on the installed product.

The added level of convenience can reduce regular wear and tear on the charging port by making it easier to connect the charging cable magnetically.

“These new accessories are designed with convenience in mind, providing a seamless magnetic connection every time. At Somfy, we are continually innovating to improve the customer experience, and this is just the latest addition to our product mix allowing for an effortless charging experience for motorized Li-ion window coverings,” said Brent Holup, product manager for WireFree Products at Somfy North America.

The magnetic charger is compatible with current V2 RTS motors as well as those powered by Zigbee as recently announced by Somfy.
