A sprawling Long Island, NY property sits on 15,000 square feet of luxurious real estate, offering an extravagant architectural design with an entertainment environment complete with a spacious outdoor patio and pool, home theater, and indoor car showroom.
The Challenge
The homeowner was looking to create a residence that leveraged technology to define modern opulence. The solutions selected needed to align with the elegant materials and finishes, elevating both functionality and aesthetic appeal. The ability to control every aspect of their home virtually would be an added bonus.
The Solution
Integrator AV-LV took the homeowners on a tour of one of their recent projects, which showcased the capabilities of a Crestron home automation system. Choosing the Crestron Home platform shaped the project’s technological trajectory, ensuring that the automation complemented the residence’s high-end features.
The Technology
The Crestron Home OS stood out for its reliability, flexibility, and ease of deployment, making it the perfect match for this expansive residence. The user interface is easy to service and update, and the flexibility of the system allows the homeowners to choose the specific requirements for the residence that accommodate current and future needs. The Crestron Home system proved to be invaluable throughout the project as it is used to manage every aspect of daily living within the home, including controlling lighting, adjusting climate settings, operating shades, and managing the audio-visual systems.
The homeowner’s desire for a modern and clean look while having a comprehensive automation system led to the implementation of Crestron touchscreens, Horizon keypads, motorized shades, and lighting control. The Crestron touchscreens and Horizon keypads are used to control 12 displays, 250 lighting loads, and 20 audio zones throughout the house.
Two outdoor displays enhance the entertainment features of the home. The patio can be screened in to create the perfect space to host parties or relax after a long day.
The rest of the backyard is even more impressive. The pool is surrounded by lounge chairs as well as two cabanas, one of which includes an additional outdoor display so the homeowners can watch the latest game or news. Using Crestron DM NVX AV-over-IP technology, the screens can show the same or different content depending on the preferences of the people sitting outside.
Inside the home, the standout features continue with a number of unique rooms. The home theater boasts a large screen and theater-style seats that fit about eight people. The Crestron touchscreen can dim the lights and turn on the display. Crestron DM NAX Audio-over-IP distributes audio around the theater for a surround sound experience during the movie. A game room with air hockey and ping-pong is directly connected to the home theater.
Across the house is a lounge space that features a glass wall looking directly into a showroom displaying the homeowners’ luxury cars. This lounge also includes Crestron DM NAX technology for a surround sound audio feel while watching TV. Each room has its own design and feel, but the technology has been blended seamlessly and discreetly with each room, ensuring a clean and uncluttered appearance throughout the home.
The Crestron motorized shades are found throughout the home, keeping the summer sun from warming the interior of the house. Other features include four DaVinci custom fireplaces to warm the home in the winter. The shades and fireplaces are integrated through the Crestron Home system, which helps regulate the temperature no matter the season.

By incorporating Crestron Home OS alongside exceptional design elements, this residence delivered a living space that was not only technologically advanced but also a stunning example of contemporary elegance. The homeowners enjoy having a comprehensive system and appreciate its intuitive operation and the convenience it brings them.
