In a major move announced Thursday afternoon, AVPro Global Holdings LLC, the parent company to AVPro Edge, AudioControl Pro, Bullet Train, ThenAudio, and Murideo, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Remote Technologies Incorporated (RTI), one of the leading residential and commercial automation and control platforms.
The acquisition brings together AVPro’s expertise in audio and video signal connectivity and RTI’s portfolio of remote controls and automation solutions. The opportunities moving forward, the companies explained in the statement, include leveraging RTI’s engineering expertise to help accelerate the AVPro brands’ integration into automation platforms, and leveraging AVPro’s product development and manufacturing resources to better support RTI’s efforts in those areas.
“AVPro acquiring RTI brings together two innovators in software-driven audio, video, and control integration, creating unique synergies that deliver greater value for our customers,” Jeff Murray, AVPro’s Founder and CEO, said in the statement. “Combining AVPro’s robust product development and manufacturing capabilities with RTI’s advanced control technologies and engineering expertise positions us to accelerate innovation and expand our offerings for our residential and commercial integration partners. We look forward to welcoming the talented RTI team to the AVPro family and working together to set new standards for connected experiences.”
Learning from its previous M&A efforts, which included the successful integration of the AudioControl brand in 2023, AVPro said it plans to incorporate RTI’s respected legacy and strong product lines—including the RTI and Pro Control branded solutions—into its broader portfolio.
“Joining AVPro Global represents an exciting opportunity to amplify RTI’s impact in the control and automation market,” Joe Roberts, RTI CEO, said in the statement. “AVPro’s manufacturing scale and development resources will accelerate our product roadmap while ensuring the innovation and quality that RTI customers expect.”
In a separate statement sent out to its dealers, AVPro Global shared a number of key benefits that its dealers will see as a result of the RTI acquisition. Among them, the obvious like the broader product portfolio and accelerated innovation between the brands. But AVPro also cited enhanced support and stability that’ll be realized through the merged operations and unified support teams, which it said will lead to quicker response times and just-in-time availability for dealers and their clients. Also, AVPro mentioned the benefit of their expanded market reach, allowing both AVPro and RTI to offer “a stronger value proposition” to their residential and commercial clients, reinforcing the dealer’s position as a trusted integration partner.
