British audio brand Cambridge Audio announced the launch of a new sleek and slim-profiled power amplifier into their lineup. The MXW70 is described by Cambridge as the “ideal companion” to their MXN10 music streamer. The combined setup forms a half-width, high-performance streaming system that can fit comfortably into any space and be controlled through the StreamMagic app.
Alone, and in spite of its size, the MXW70 is capable of driving some of the most demanding speakers with its 70 Watts of power per channel. Then, with the flip of a switch, the device can go from stereo to mono mode, which gives the MXW70 250 Watts of bridgeable power.
The list of features runs long with the MXW70, but what stands out most is the timeless design of the product. The tiny chassis is crafted out of an all-metal, Lunar Grey material that matches th eMXN10 and Cambridge’s DacMagic 200M DAC. The system is simple yet elegant, and it’s convenient size means it can fit seamlessly into any desktop setup without stealing a ton of real estate.
Cambridge says the MXW70 will be available this summer at approved retailers. It’ll carry a price tag of $599.
