Nestled in the breathtaking surroundings of Duck Key, Jasmine House epitomizes modern coastal luxury. Every detail of this home, from the architectural design to the custom furnishings and lush landscaping, reflects the unparalleled craftsmanship and vision of the D’Asign Source and Coastal Source teams.

At the heart of this exquisite property lies a sophisticated outdoor lighting design powered by elegant, weather-resistant Coastal Source light fixtures, seamlessly blending functionality with aesthetics to create an enchanting ambiance.

A Lighting Design That Elevates Outdoor Living

The homeowners’ desire for a relaxing yet highly functional exterior living space led to the development of a lighting scheme that enhances both the curb appeal and usability of the property’s exterior areas. The front yard exudes sophistication, with niche lights illuminating the driveway and stately uplighting accentuating the texture of trees and other vegetation.

Along the property wall, subtle yet effective built-in fixtures create a welcoming glow, setting the tone for the serene retreat within. The backyard is the focal point of the Coastal Source lighting design, with soft, even illumination enhancing the outdoor living areas. Tiki torches cast a warm glow over small gatherings, while strategically placed uplights highlight the putting green, fire pit, pool, and waterfall. An elegantly illuminated breezeway, an extension of the back patio, serves as a seamless transition to the outdoor dining area.

Precision and Subtlety: The Coastal Source Advantage

With 230 Coastal Source light fixtures installed throughout the property, the lighting approach at Jasmine House prioritizes subtlety and even distribution. “Smaller wattage fixtures ensure a soft glow without creating unwanted hotspots, which was a preference of the homeowners,” said D’Asign Source’s Nick D’Ascanio. Unlike traditional landscape designs with designated path lights, Jasmine House features hardscape pathways integrated into artificial grass, necessitating a unique lighting strategy. To accommodate this, niche markers and conduits were used to minimize disruptions to the artificial turf while ensuring ease of serviceability.

Coastal Source’s precision-engineered fixtures provided the flexibility needed for this complex installation. The existing dock, once wired with outdated high-voltage lighting, was seamlessly converted to Coastal Source step lights, with 16 fixtures strategically placed along the dock steps and two-foot walls. Step lights also line various areas of the property, providing both safety and aesthetic appeal. Thanks to Coastal Source’s foolproof connections, additional dock lighting was easily installed post-construction without the need for extensive rerouting, showcasing the system’s adaptability and ease of installation.

A Seamless Design and Build Process

One of the key advantages of working with D’Asign Source is their ability to manage every aspect of a project, from conceptual design to final execution. At Jasmine House, this comprehensive approach allowed for seamless integration of landscape and lighting elements. Before pouring the concrete around the dock, lighting plans were carefully considered and implemented, ensuring a flawless final result with minimal post-installation modifications.

The flexibility of D’Asign Source’s design process, as well as the variety and durability of Coastal Source fixtures, was also evident since they adapted to the homeowners’ evolving preferences. For example, modifications to the poured concrete planters were easily accommodated, and a customized fish table with specialized lighting was added to enhance the nighttime filleting experience. By overseeing every detail, D’Asign Source ensured that the final design met the homeowners’ vision without compromise.

Aesthetic Ambiance Over Technology

For the homeowners, the appeal of the lighting design was not only in the technology itself, but in the stunning ambiance it created. While Coastal Source fixtures are renowned for their durability and cutting-edge engineering, “what truly resonated with the homeowners was the way the lighting transformed their outdoor spaces,” D’Ascanio adds.

In addition to functional lighting, D’Asign Source also incorporated artistic accents. Outdoor sculptures were carefully highlighted with accent lighting, adding a personalized touch to the landscape. D’Asign Source’s thoughtful selection of plantings included coconut palms, Frangipani, Keys Lily, Lipstick Palms, ginger, bamboo, and Silver Date Palms, further enhance the tropical paradise aesthetic.

A Testament to Excellence in Coastal Design

Completed in mid-2023, Jasmine House stands as a testament to D’Asign Source’s ability to deliver an unparalleled design and build experience. The superior quality of Coastal Source lighting, combined with the company’s eye for design, has resulted in a home that is not only visually stunning but also supremely functional. From the artfully illuminated dock to the enchanting backyard oasis, every element of Jasmine House reflects a commitment to excellence.
