Attendees of last month’s CEDIA Expo 2024 were were able to purchase Home Theaterology, a new coffee table book written to inspire technology integrators, interior designers, and architects to integrate “captivating home theaters” into their projects. Those who bought a copy also could get the book signed by Richard Charschan, who spearheaded the impressively designed and written publication (available from hometheaterology.net) featuring contributions from other notable home theater experts.
With inspiration from legendary theater pioneer Theo Kalomirakis’ classic book Great Escapes, Home Theaterology is meant to educate and inspire the design community to embrace this luxury as a centerpiece for modern homes.
Charschan, president of AcousticSmart Home Theatre Interiors, is an expert in designing and building home theaters and brought together top manufacturers and professionals to showcase 15 unique home theater projects. The projects are beautifully photographed for the book, which includes insightful tidbits about the key components that make a home theater luxurious
Home Theaterology is co-sponsored by prominent industry brands, such as Kaleidescape, Barco Residential, Screen Research, CEDIA, CEDIA Expo, Storm Audio, Meridian, JBL Synthesis, D-Tools, TPI, 360 Power Quality, and MadVR, among others. Barry Sonnenfeld, the acclaimed Hollywood director and cinematographer, wrote one of the book’s forewords, emphasizing the critical role of home theaters in delivering an unparalleled cinematic experience. Max Weinberg, drummer for Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, also wrote a foreword in which he chronicles his journey to recreate and elevate the cinematic experience at home.
With insights from experts like Joel Silver on video calibration and Tony Grimani on acoustics, Home Theaterology provides valuable knowledge to inspire designers and architects to embrace the resurgent trend of home theaters.
