Josh.ai continues expanding the range of voice control in the home by integrating with DISH’s Hopper DVR for satellite television compatibility. Available now, this integration provides the user experience of being able to walk from room to room and ask Josh Micro to control the DISH TV experience, including navigation and content selection.
“We’re thrilled to be the first TV provider to integrate with Josh.ai, especially because of their passion for and commitment to voice control technology,” said Niraj Desai, DISH vice president of product management. “With Hopper integrated with Josh.ai, we’re able to provide a new integrated voice control experience for our CI dealers and their high-end clients.”
This integration between Josh.ai and DISH is meant to provide a more streamlined client experience and offer technology integrators an intuitive setup process. After connecting to the network, Josh.ai auto-populates supported DISH set-top-boxes, including Hopper (all generations), Wally and Joey (all models), and provides authorization instructions. Once brought into the Josh.ai web portal, integrators are able to seamlessly deploy a distributed media system by assigning source inputs and outputs for supported matrix switchers, receivers, and televisions throughout the home.
In addition to multi-room satellite TV control, homeowners will receive all the benefits of Josh.ai’s privacy-focused home control. Josh.ai is committed to protecting customer privacy and providing an elegant home control solution without selling or leveraging customer data for marketing purposes.
“Live TV integration is one of the features that is most commonly requested by our integrator partners, and we’re thrilled to partner with DISH to roll out this capability for the first time,” said Alex Capecelatro, CEO of Josh.ai. “DISH has gained respect and momentum in the [custom integration] channel over the last several years with offerings tailored to our industry, and we are excited to kick off this partnership. Our goal with Josh.ai is to deliver an exciting user experience and our relationship with DISH will help us achieve that vision.”
