During Lightapalooza 2025 in Dallas this week, DMF Lighting is introducing Artafex Linear, its latest solution designed to enhance linear lighting in the custom installation space, and PhaseX, an advanced tunable white lighting solution developed specifically for the custom integrator channel.
After three years of dedicated research and development, PhaseX was designed to unlock the next big step in digital lighting while empowering integrators with a solution that’s simple, versatile, and cost-effective to install.
PhaseX
DMF Lighting’s PhaseX represents an LED solution that addresses the unique needs of integrators. This solution delivers the ability to control each fixture individually, set scenes, and offer circadian control while offering flexibility in design and simplified installations.
“As a company, we’re committed to providing integrators with every tool that elevates the lighting experience for homeowners,” said Mike Libman, sales vice president – custom integrators, DMF Lighting. “By developing PhaseX, we’ve combined our technical expertise with practical solutions, creating a product that is easy to install, adaptable for any project, and designed to deliver the superior quality lighting experience our partners expect.”
DMF says it has designed PhaseX with simplicity, versatility, and reliability that will help integrators close more projects and provide a lighting experience that sets them apart in the marketplace. It offers tunable white, ultra-low 0.1% dimming, and precision zoning, all while maintaining ease of installation.
Each PhaseX Gateway can control up to 64 PhaseX-enabled DMF Artafex 2 or Artafex 4 fixtures. The Gateway uses standard line voltage in and is paired with any manufacturer’s DMX system to provide control over the fixtures. The compact Gateways can be placed in traditional dimming cabinets or strategically throughout a home.
Key Features of PhaseX Technology:
- Tunable White Lighting: The ability to adjust lighting for mood, task, or aesthetics with tunable white light technology.
- Simple Wiring: PhaseX uses a standard two-wire Romex, reducing both costs and complexity. No special wiring is required.
- Flexible Integration: PhaseX is built with an open protocol, allowing seamless operation across a wide range of control platforms including Crestron Home, which natively recognizes PhaseX fixtures.
- Adaptable for Any Project: Whether it’s a new build, a remodel, or a retrofit, PhaseX is designed for versatility, giving dealers the freedom to apply it in virtually any setting.
- Scalability: Utilizing lightning-fast 2-way digital communication, up to 64 fixtures are possible on a single standard “Romex” wire.
- Beautiful DMF Trims: PhaseX fixtures offer DMF’s modularity and the same range of elegant trims that complement any design aesthetic.
Artafex Linear
Artafex Linear embodies DMF Lighting’s signature modularity while addressing the specific pain points integrators have faced for years with traditional LED tape solutions.
“With Artafex Linear, we’re taking the DMF approach to modularity and applying it to our linear lighting solution,” Libman said. “We’ve taken all the advantages of traditional LED tape and solved the challenges integrators face, making it easier to specify, order, and install while maintaining the modularity and flexibility DMF Lighting is known for.”
DMF Lighting’s Artafex Linear series is designed to provide integrators with a simple, yet robust solution that meets the ever-growing demand for linear lighting in residential applications. Unlike the tape light alternative, which often requires complex installation and time-consuming soldering, Artafex Linear offers a streamlined, easy-to-install system with magnetic connectors, removing the need for field cutting and reducing installation time. This modular system allows for the flexibility to make adjustments on-site without compromising performance.
DMF Lighting’s Artafex Linear key features include a modular design, premium build, warm dim matching, and a simplified ordering process.
With its availability in one-foot, two-inch, and one-inch increments, Artafex Linear allows for easy customization and installation. The magnetic connectors snap seamlessly into place, ensuring reliable connections and a smooth, continuous lighting effect without gaps.
The fixture is designed with a premium soft-touch silicone lens that prevents dust buildups. The lens, combined with a dense array of highly efficient LEDs, provides high efficacy with dot-free performance.
Artafex Linear’s Warm Dim option matches DMF Lighting’s Warm Dim downlight color temperature curve, ensuring consistent lighting across various fixtures in a home. It can also be set at 2700K and 3000K for those preferring a static color temperature.
The Artafex Linear product line was designed with the integrator in mind, providing an ordering process that is both flexible and user-friendly. Whether an integrator is a beginner in lighting or an experienced professional, the ordering system adapts to their level of knowledge and project requirements. The three ways to order include:
- Order by Total Footage: Ideal for projects where quick estimates are needed, integrators can simply input the total linear footage required for the project and choose the preferred mounting type—flat or 45-degree. The system automatically generates a complete bill of materials (BOM), including the appropriate number of fixtures, connectors, drivers, and other essential components.
- Order by Zone: For more complex projects where multiple control zones are required, integrators can specify the length and mounting type for each zone, such as kitchen under-cabinet lighting or living room cove lighting. The system creates a separate BOM for each zone, helping to label and organize components by specific areas within the project, ensuring that the right materials are deployed to the right locations.
- Order by Individual Components: For integrators who prefer to build their own configurations or need specific parts, this option allows them to manually select the exact components required for their projects. This method is ideal for advanced users who want precise control over their inventory.
One of the standout features of the Artafex Linear product line is the Artafex Linear Kit, which simplifies installation and reduces job site complications. Each kit comes packed in a specially designed tray box and includes:
- 10 x 12-inch linear fixtures
- 4 x 2-inch linear sections
- 1 x 1-inch linear section
- A selection of joiners, dead ends, power feeds, and jumpers
By including a variety of linear lengths and connection accessories, the kit covers a wide range of installation scenarios, allowing integrators to adapt quickly to changes in the field. The kit’s modular nature ensures faster, easier installations without compromising on performance or aesthetics.
Artafex Linear is designed to serve a variety of lighting applications, including under-cabinet lighting in kitchens, ambient cove lighting in living rooms, and task lighting in home offices. Its sleek profile and modular configuration allow it to integrate into architectural features, providing high-quality, even illumination without the complications of tape lighting. Whether used for accent lighting or to create sophisticated scenes throughout the home, Artafex Linear offers exceptional versatility, making it a top choice for integrators working on projects of any scale.
Integrators have long faced challenges with LED tape, from confusing specification processes to unreliable connectors and field soldering that requires extensive training. Artafex Linear eliminates these issues by offering a plug-and-play solution that is as easy to install as it is to maintain. Additionally, DMF Lighting’s open architecture design allows integrators to seamlessly integrate Artafex Linear with the control systems they’re already familiar
