Integrated Fiber Platform, the company founded by former custom integrator Eric Crawford, has added to its line of IFP Connect network infrastructure products. The new Power over Ethernet (PoE) fiber transceivers enable single-mode fiber connection points for touchpanels, wireless access points, cameras, and other devices requiring PoE+ (30W) power.
Now integrators can deliver a complete fiber network to support all applications rather than prewiring with capacity-limited category cable.
“IFP Connect was designed to solve the everyday problem for integrators having to install maxed-out category cable for their networks,” said Buzz Delano, director of business development. “With IFP, integrators install single-mode fiber and low-voltage power cable for superior network speed today and for the future. Our PoE transceiver supports more networked devices. Now integrators can deliver complete fiber infrastructure solutions”
IFP’s new PoE transceiver is compatible with all PoE+ devices and is easily installed at the device location. A single-mode fiber delivers the inbound data along with 2 conductor power cable to a 2-pin spring-terminal. The data signal then connects via RJ45 directly to a touch panel, wireless access point, or camera.
“Integrators have asked us for a PoE solution, and we listened and delivered,” commented Eric Crawford, IFP founder and CEO. “Knowing well the in-field needs of integrators and the limitations of category cable networks, we believe it is essential to deliver more fiber-connected solutions. Our PoE transceiver is the perfect addition to our in-wall transceivers and give integrators a solid reason to spec fiber networks today and every day for all their projects.”
