The rate at which the Gramophone and World Wide Stereo teams make bold announcements doesn’t appear to be slowing down any time soon. Just a little over a year after the two independently operated companies joined to form a strategic leadership partnership, they’ve announced another fascinating move that could have some really unique implications for their combined business. David Solomon, a veteran of the audio industry, has been appointed the new Director of Content Innovation & Brand Engagement.
Gramophone and World Wide Stereo explained that, in the role, Solomon will help guide “immersive content strategies” that will build on both brands’ reach and relevance.
“David brings a rare combination of deep technical expertise, storytelling vision, and unparalleled industry relationships,” Andrew Davis, CEO and Managing Partner of World Wide Stereo and Gramophone, said in a statement announcing David’s appointment. “He’ll be instrumental in helping us scale both our business and our digital content offerings—connecting more consumers with meaningful audio experiences while growing our online presence and partner ecosystem. His influence will be felt across every touchpoint, from showrooms and events to content and digital media.”
The timing for the announcement was described as pivotal with the grand opening of a new World Wide Stereo flagship Experience Center set for this September in Wayne, PA, just a stone’s throw from neighboring Philadelphia.
The founder of Peachtree Audio, Solomon more recently held prominent roles at streaming audio brands Qobuz and TIDAL and is widely credited with helping to shape the hi-res streaming category in the U.S. He’ll apply those skills, alongside his passion for education, speaking, and premium audio experiences, to help deliver new content initiatives for World Wide Stereo and Gramophone. The goal: increasing brand equity and creating dynamic, discovery-driven experiences to partners and customers.
“Joining World Wide Stereo and Gramophone at this pivotal moment is truly exciting,” Solomon said in the statement. “Both companies are driving innovation and excellence in ways that are reshaping the future of home entertainment and custom integration. They’re not just keeping up—they’re setting the pace. I’m thrilled to help deepen their connection with new audiences, expand vendor partnerships, and inspire the next generation of music lovers and technology enthusiasts.”
Solomon’s fingerprint will be placed on various experiences across both companies, including expert demos, showroom programming, trade collaborations, and more.
In a LinkedIn post just prior to the official announcement, Solomon shared that his next career move was one that he was very much looking forward to.
“These are long-time friends and respected partners with whom I’ve shared many great experiences over the years,” he wrote. “Andrew Davis was one of the first to call and I was on a plane a couple of days later. I truly admire the work they’re doing and feel honored to join their team in a more official capacity. Both companies are on an upward trajectory, and I’m thrilled to contribute to the momentum of such a diverse group.”
