Custom integrators have dabbled in the outdoor living space for some time now. But there’s no denying that, over the past few years, this space has exploded in both popularity and revenue potential. Outdoor audio and video solutions continue to grow in popularity as consumers look to break beyond the four walls of their home. Increased interest in home security and monitoring systems has played a major part as well.
Not to be outdone, landscape lighting is another aspect of the outdoor category that represents a major revenue opportunity for integrators. The challenge, though, is understanding how to effectively enter the market, pitch it to clients, and design a solution that will ultimately wow your customers. And that’s where Lighthouse Design Studio hopes to step in and help businesses that are serious about succeeding in outdoor lighting.
The highly-accomplished and nationally recognized lighting design firm recently detailed its push into the CEDIA channel and interest in supporting custom integrators through a mix of training events, case studies, and more. In a show of commitment to the channel and in an effort to get closer to integrators, Lighthouse recently joined CEDIA as an Industry Related Professional member company and named well-known PR firm Muto Communications as their agency of record.
“As an independent design firm Lighthouse Design Studio is unique in our approach,” Tim Ryan, executive director and principal lighting designer for Lighthouse, said in a statement. “Our thorough and comprehensive process means we go well beyond just design and product specification services. We truly become a partner in the success of each organization we elect to work with by providing complete end-to-end solutions. We collaborate closely with our partners so they can successfully integrate outdoor lighting as a viable profit center for their business and maintain their reputation of excellence with their clientele. And we are product-agnostic – we will integrate any lighting brand the integrator sells insomuch as it appropriately fits the needs of the project.”
Ryan will hit the ground running in the space, with his first appearance scheduled to take place at the CEDIA Tech + Business Summits in Ft. Lauderdale and Tampa on March 18 and 20, respectively. There, Ryan will lead a free course aimed at helping integrators work outdoor lighting pitches into their AV client proposals. He’ll bring the same session to the CEDIA events in New Jersey and New York City in April.
Founded in 2001, Lighthouse has completed over 50,000 outdoor lighting installations. Today, the company is staffed with veterans in the landscape and architectural lighting design space who are located throughout the U.S. and bring decades of experience to the table.
