Lutron has launched a new hardware solution that will make it easier for integrators to upgrade legacy HomeWorks systems to the current HomeWorks QSX platform. Once upgraded, legacy systems will offer homeowners the chance to experience more from Lutron luxury solutions, including Ketra intelligent lighting, without needing a full system replacement.
At CEDIA Expo 2024, Lutron will be debuting their Panel Link to QS Link Translator which allows legacy RPM and Spec Grade Panels to communicate over the QS Link to a QSX processor. Working in tandem with the RPM to DIN Subplate launched in 2021, this solution streamlines the upgrade process for installers, providing significant benefits for both integrators and homeowners.
“Lutron is known for making reliable systems with a long lifespan,” said Ben Bard, vice president of the luxury residential business at Lutron. “Many HomeWorks systems installed 15 or more years ago are still operational today. We’re excited to unlock new growth opportunities for integrators and new opportunities for their clients to experience the full luxury experience offered by Lutron,”
Upgrade Benefits for Integrators:
- Simplifies installation and updates with easy-to-install products.
- Makes system management more convenient with remote access capabilities.
- Creates new business opportunities with existing customers and drives ongoing revenue by being able to offer the latest innovative products from Lutron.
Upgrade Benefits for Homeowners:
- Transforms functional keypads into aesthetically pleasing designs, elevating them from basic button-press functionality to a refined design language. A HomeWorks upgrade allows homeowners to enjoy advanced luxury features in lighting, shades, and controls, with seamless system communication—all without major renovations.
- Peace of mind that the lighting control system will continue working, delivering a better experience without the hassle of a full renovation project.
