Nice, the home and building management solutions company with the pleasant-sounding name, has expanded into the custom smart sun shading category, with the launch of Sun Shades by Nice. The new product line offers a variety of roller shading solutions for the home technology professional, to further expand on the company’s portfolio of whole home automation solutions.

Sun Shades by Nice provides expansive design options with the same simple, flexible integration that the company has established as its hallmark. Advanced electronics offer enhanced versatility, enabling the sun shades to be integrated into a project at any stage of the building process. Highly customizable with options for indoor and outdoor use, the custom roller shade line offers finishes to complete any space.

The range of sun shades for interior needs include open roll, cassette, fascia, and pocket mounting options, as well as options for dual roller and total blackout shade. Offerings are available for more complex needs, such as skylights, bottom-up applications commonly used in bedrooms, and peaked or angled windows. Powerful shade motors by Nice also enable more options for windows up to 18 feet.

Additionally, the line includes exterior options that extend the possibilities to outdoor spaces. With track-guided and cable-guided solutions for both vertical and horizontal shading needs, Sun Shades by Nice covers most needs for standard exterior window coverings while preventing heat transfer from solar radiation, and drastically improving temperature control and energy use.

Sun Shades by Nice are powered by the ultra-quiet and durable Nice tubular motors, which offer high reliability, include hembar alignment, and can detect objects in both up and down directions.

Nice tubular motors come in a wide variety, including AC, DC, and battery as well as both wired and RF, and are currently available to OEM fabrication partners. When paired with a Nice Home Management System, the discovery and setup functionality in the Nice Configurator application delivers simple, flexible installation for the home technology professional.

“We’re excited to add our first line of sun shades to the Nice portfolio,” said Jeff Shaw, vice president of product management at Nice North America. “By expanding our offering with Sun Shades by Nice, we’re building a larger, more complete portfolio for our CI partners and providing our customers with a true whole home ecosystem.”

The launch of Sun Shades by Nice follows a series of company product announcements, including the Home Management OS 8.8 Software Upgrade for all Nice/ELAN Control Systems, the HR40 Multifunction Smart Home Remote and DC-12 IP Smart DC Power Manager, that underscore the company’s position as a leader in Home Management solutions.

Authorized dealers can see the full list of features and order Sun Shades by Nice contacting your regional sales manager.
