Rise Garden Announces Their Personal Indoor Smart Garden

January 13th, 2021 Chynna Pearson

A new indoor smart garden is coming from Rise Garden according to the virtual CES event. The Chicago-based company’s new countertop-sized garden is equipped with Amazon Alexa and includes an “industry-first microgreens add-on.”

Rise Garden, founded in 2019, designs hydroponic produce gardens so anyone can grow their own foods. They look to encourage “better nutrition and healthy outcomes” by assisting in the ability to grow personal food year-round as well as partnering with schools to “build nutrition education” within the classroom.

The company has created a gardening system capable of removing complicated processes and allowing users to have fun gardening while keeping up with busy lives and urban settings. Available systems use a modular Wi-Fi-connection platform that allows for expansion and the ability to grow a wider variety of foods.

The Personal Garden

Rise Garden’s new Personal Garden includes everything that the company’s prior gardens did, including, “state-of-the-art lights, proprietary water flow technology, and modularity” just in a smaller package. The personal Garden has space to grow four large plants, like tomatoes or peppers, eight medium-sized plants, like herbs or flowers, or 12 small plants, like beets or chives and even micro greens.

Unlike other at-home gardens, Rise Gardens “is the only modular, consumer hydroponic system allowing consumers to choose between 1, 2, or 3 levels of growing.” The option to grow multiple plant types simultaneously is unique as well. This enables gardeners to “grow greens, herbs, tomatoes, microgreens, vining crops and rooted veggies at the same time in the same system.”

The Personal Garden is compatible with its own app appropriately called Rise Gardens. It is also an IoT system. The app itself allows users to manage their system and receive guidance and alerts. Their website explains, “water levels, light settings, and nutrient levels all have sensors on the system and can be controlled via the app or by voice controls through the Alexa.”

Lastly, the garden itself is made out of heavy-gauge steel and solid wood. This design is meant to complement any home decor without appearing out of place.

No Green Thumb? No Problem.

The Rise Garden company created its systems so anyone can have the ability to grow healthy food at their own home. Rise Garden website explains, “We make it very simple for anyone even if you have little to no gardening experience. The app walks you through literally everything in the process from planting to harvest. That said, we do know that experienced gardeners also have a ton of fun exploring and experimenting with the system to grow different varieties.”

According to the FAQs, consumers only need to water and add nutrients to their gardens once a week. Then, once a mature plant has grown, the app will let you know it’s time to harvest. After the harvest, it is recommended to thoroughly clean out the system using the company’s all-natural cleaning solution. The process should take less than 45 minutes to finish, depending on how many levels are in the garden.

The Rise Garden’s Personal Garden is available now for $279, it comes with eight seeded pods, 12 net cups, and nutrients.
