During last month’s CEDIA Expo 2023, Russound revealed that it would soon ship its most advanced multichannel amplifiers to date. The new D-series, which includes the D890 (8-channel), D1290 (12-channel), and D1675 (16-channel) models, features improved signal sensing, and the latest Russound digital amplification technology with a dynamic power supply ready to provide superb sound all around the home, indoors and out.
Russound also used the occasion of CEDIA Expo to debut its first two mini audio/video receivers: AVA2.1 and AVA3.1. Measuring only 7.7” x 5.5” x 1.7”, the two models, which respectively offer 2.1- and 3.1-channels of audio output, are highly flexible receivers that can be placed in nearly any imaginable space, including outdoors when used with a weatherproof box.
D890, D1290, and D1675
Russound’s D890, D1290, and D1675 models feature increased power to 90 watts per channel, a modernized industrial design with low-profile 1U chassis for the 8- and 12-channel models, and ultra-flexible frequency filter configuration options for integrating subwoofers easily into any custom installation project.
In particular, the integrator-friendly design includes new selectable high pass and low pass filter options to customize the audio output and to easily add any of Russound’s or other manufacturers’ subwoofers to any zone.
“The new D-series is a game-changer for integrators, offering premium audio quality, high power, and customizable sound at highly affordable prices,” said Charlie Porritt, CEO, Russound. “Our customers can offer their clients ultra-reliable, sonically satisfying solutions for multichannel audio, without depleting the projected budget.”
All three models offer high and low pass filter options, 90 watts per channel output (D890, D1290) or 75 watts per channel (D1675), and a worldwide 110-230V power supply. The D890 and D1290 are low-profile 1U rack mount height designs, and the D1675 measures 2U.
AVA2.1 and AVA3.1
Both the Russound AVA2.1 and AVA3.1 include a fully integrated, highly efficient class-D amplifier with digital inputs and power output up to 150 watts, 110-240V 50/60Hz universal power supply, built-in Bluetooth 5.0, ARC HDMI, a dedicated subwoofer output with gain control, bass and treble adjustments, a 3.5mm analog output for connection to an outboard amplifier, and an IR remote control with an external receiver.
In addition, the thermally designed and optimized enclosure is designed for use in reduced ventilation spaces such as behind-the-TV boxes, and the HDMI input allows for immediate use with any TV via HDMI’s CEC functionality, eliminating the need to teach IR commands for volume control, thereby simplifying and speeding up installations.
“These are the AVRs our customers asked for,” Porritt said. “The AVA2.1 and AVA3.1 are ultra-compact, high-performance AVRs designed to fit nearly anywhere, including behind the wall. They’re a boon for custom specialists who need flexible, reliable audio solutions that are easy to install and hide out of sight.”
Added Porritt: “The AVA2.1 and AVA3.1 are important products for Russound and our dealers, and they are indicative of the direction we’re taking in our 57th year. The market will continue to see us introduce new and innovative high-performance audio products through next year, most of which are designed with direct input from our customers.”
