URC and Hearth & Home Technologies Create Total Control Integration

URC and Hearth & Home Technologies (HHT) have introduced a next-generation integration in smart hearth control for residential and commercial users. Now, users can more easily integrate HHT’s hearth systems with URC’s Total Control, allowing them to manage hearth units equipped with Wi-Fi Modules using IntelliFire Touch technology.

Combining these systems creates a new age of unified, smart residential control for URC dealers and their customers. For example, Total Control’s user experience now allows easy adjustment of fire heat and intensity from multiple zones or devices. URC’s voice-enabled devices allow two-way communication and control with simple operation across URC user interfaces.

With professional programming, users can launch robust scenes in Total Control, creating their ideal entertainment atmosphere or cozy, family environment. Within a secure environment, this integration allows dealers remote access (with end user approval) to trouble-shoot, monitor, or adjust the Total Control system and configure the HHT integration.

With professional installation, Total Control allows this new integration to combine with customized scenes where multiple activities occur like hearth fire, lighting, audio/visual. Easy and convenient for the end user to create uniquely engaging environments, this integration links with lighting and climate control functions to set the perfect stage for entertainment or family events.

“As a leader in the hearth industry we are excited to partner with URC, a premier home automation provider, to integrate our full complement of hearth appliance controls with their holistic suite of features,” stated David Richmond, HHT’s director of technology. “We see this as a key benefit as we look to work with trade partners and the end consumer to continually offer new options for integrating our products into the broader home environment.”

Lars Granoe, URC’s VP of Product Development, added, “Just like Hearth & Home Technologies is an early adopter of new hearth design and control, URC is excited to be an early control and automation partner. With fireplaces being a cornerstone of residential environments, our dealers will take an even broader array of integrations and products to end users. This is a big win for our community.”
