Airzone Control is one of the few brands working to create a seamless way for AV professionals to bring HVAC control into the fold for their clients. With their Aidoo Pro flagship line of HVAC control bridges, Airzone addresses a “critical gap” that’s existed between the HVAC industry and residential and commercial integration firms.

While smart thermostats have been around for a bit, Airzone gets integrators a step closer to the actual heart of the heating and cooling systems in the home or office. Inverter technologies like VRF, mini-split, and heat pump systems have gained traction here in the U.S. – tax credits and the Inflation Reduction Act have a bit to do with that – but those technologies have been incapable of connecting directly to an automation system or smart thermostat without the presence of a bridge.

Check out ResTech Talks Podcast Ep. 190, featuring Airzone.

Airzone’s Aidoo Pro serves as that bridge thanks to the company’s exclusive library of manufacturer protocols that brings native integration to their products from just about every major manufacturer in the space. The Aidoo Pro line, then, allows for direct and precise control over various system functions like temperature set point, fan speed, and heating or cooling mode from the thermostat or the automation platform.

Airzone is stepping up even further with the launch of three new products to support the Aidoo Pro line and offer integrators more ways to implement their product into HVAC-related projects. New entrants include the Aidoo Zigbee, Aidoo Pro Smart Thermostat Interface (STI), and Aidoo Pro Hub.

“The world of building automation is expanding, and the Aidoo line is growing to keep pace. We are committed to providing purpose-built solutions for leading open and closed protocols, as well as simple standards-based connectivity options,” Victoria Garcia Massimo, Director of North American Operations for Airzone, said in a statement. “No matter how you approach building automation or HVAC integration, there is an Aidoo that works for your design.”

Each new model brings its own key functions to the lineup. The Aidoo Zigbee is a fairly straightforward one as a product built on the Zigbee 3.0 protocol, ensuring seamless communication with other Zigbee-certified devices. The Smart Thermostat Interface allows for power to be drawn from the 24V transformer used by the thermostat, removing the need for a separate 12V source and awkward configurations in the client’s home. And the Aidoo Pro Hub is an ideal solution for commercial environments, giving integrators hardwired connections, ensuring secure and uninterrupted communication in those busy, signal-heavy commercial settings.

The Airzone Aidoo Zigbee, Aidoo Pro STI, and Aidoo Pro Hub are available now through authorized Airzone dealers and can be ordered directly from www.airzonecontrol.com.
