Blackdove Curates Digital Art Gallery for Custom Integrator Clients

Blackdove, the digital art gallery brand, has introduced a comprehensive portfolio of solutions for incorporating digital art into custom integration projects.

Blackdove’s system encompasses a hardware media player, purpose-built displays, a control and management app, and a digital artwork subscription service. The company enables instantaneous delivery of any work of digital art to any display in the world, with NFT blockchain registration and end-to-end encryption.

Blackdove Offers New Opportunity for Custom Integrators

Luxury clients consistently seek novel design elements that will set their spaces apart. Blackdove re-positions displays as digital art installations. No longer at odds with the aesthetics of a luxury space, large screens and video walls become a central design element with the implementation of Blackdove.

Additionally, the company has established partnerships with known players in the industry like Crestron, Savant, and Control4. A digital art gallery can be thoughtfully integrated into the overall smart home system, and controlling the digital art gallery as part of a client’s existing smart home system is simple.

Blackdove’s curatorial team supplies the art expertise required for any application. Once a dealer specifies Blackdove into a project, Blackdove’s art advisors can work directly with the client, design partners, or client representative to select the right digital art at no additional cost to the dealer or client.

AHT Global, for example, recently undertook a major upgrade for a client in Miami, which included adding Blackdove and updating Crestron. According to the custom integrator, the installation was seamless and quick, with the company working with the client to select video art that greatly appealed to him.

Two Simple Integration Options

The Blackdove Art Server allows any display to connect to the Blackdove digital art gallery. This slim device can be installed in a rack or behind a screen and can connect to the Blackdove cloud via Ethernet or Wi-Fi.

The Art Server features a single 4K 60Hz HDMI output, and an SSD Drive for locally caching client art collections. For large-scale applications, Blackdove can create customized Art Servers with resolutions up to 26K. The Art Server comes pre-loaded with the company’s software.

“For our sixth install with Blackdove, we used a Blackdove Art Server to deliver video art via Savant’s VOIP to multiple displays throughout a client’s penthouse, including the B&O Harmony and Samsung Frame,” said Ken Johnson, owner of Premiere Systems, part of the Integrators’ Alliance. “The client gave us rave reviews about how much he and his guests enjoy seeing art across the screens in his residence.”

Customers seeking a purpose-built display for digital artwork may instead opt for a Blackdove Digital Canvas, a high-definition commercial display screen with an integrated Blackdove Art Server. Available in an array of sizes up to 98 inches, each Blackdove Digital Canvas is designed for continuous operation and can hang in either portrait or landscape orientation.

Installing either a Blackdove Art Server or Digital Canvas typically takes 15 minutes or less. The company’s remote integration team is available to log in and support the onsite dealer to complete the system configuration if required.

Blackdove App and Subscription

Customers manage and control their collections through the company’s web portal and app, available for iOS and Android, or via integration with the home’s Crestron, Control4, or Savant control system.

The subscription library rotates continually as new artists and artworks are added. Subscribers can purchase NFTs granting them the permanent right to display their favorite pieces. Limited edition pieces and unique commissions are also available for purchase as NFTs. Customers can also upload privately owned digital artwork to Blackdove, taking advantage of the advanced management system for their entire collection.

Subscriptions start at $99/month. Dealers receive a revenue share on the subscription service for the lifetime of the system.

Becoming a Dealer

Blackdove partners with authorized dealers to bring the digital art gallery into their customers’ homes. Dealers receive sales training and support, installation support, and unlimited remote monitoring, management and troubleshooting for all installed Blackdove devices.
