EPV PolarMax Aerie Roll-Up Projection Screen Now Ambient Light Rejecting

EPV Screens has launched the PolarMax Aerie Tension, which is a motorized “in-ceiling” projection screen that uses a specialty material that rejects the washout effects of ceiling light as well as off-axis ambient lighting.

“The material’s ambient light rejection and ISF performance is superb but what really impressive is the screen’s ability to stand up to the effects of constantly rolling up and down,” said David Rodgers, marketing manager of EPV Screens. “In-ceiling projection screens are the best solution for a seamless integration but press the button or turn on the projector and the show really start before the movie does.”

It features the PolarStar ceiling and ambient light rejecting (CLR/ALR) material, which is durable enough for heavy use without degrading. PolarStar is a 1.3-gain, angular reflective ambient and ceiling light rejecting (ALR/CLR) front projection material.

The off-axis light rejection is accomplished using a multi-layer matrix with reflective and absorbent micro-particles with high-contrast diffusion layers that eliminate up to 85 percent of ambient light. It is ISF-certified for superb color reproduction, color saturation, contrast, and black/white dynamic range.

The PolarStar material is also GREENGUARD/ UL 2818 certified for safe indoor air quality emissions. If you are concerned about product emissions and safe air quality levels in your home, business, school or house of worship, the GREENGUARD/UL 2818 certification is essential. The Polar Max includes a tab-tensioning system that provides a flat, taut surface. This ensures the optimal picture performance needed for higher resolution 4K/8K, UHD and HDR Ready projectors.

The retractable design provides a big screen performance without dedicating wall space to exclusively one purpose. This way, the viewer can enjoy greater versatility with a disappearing screen when not in use. The PolarMax® Aerie Tension comes fully assembled and is ready to integrate into ceiling spaces either from within the room or from within the airspace above the room.

A full IR and RF remote control kit is included along with a wireless 12-volt projector trigger that will coordinate the projector’s drop and rise with the projector’s power cycle.

EPV Screens’ PolarMax Aerie Tension Series Projection Screen is available in 103-133-inch sizes with a 16:9 aspect ratio. These screens are available through EPV Screen’s line of dedicated residential & commercial integrator products.  It comes with Elite’s limited 5-year
