Hunter Douglas, the manufacturer of custom window treatments, has created a mobile selling app for iPad, called The Link, that is designed to support dealers in taking on the automated shading category, from the consultation to the installation.

The Link is a digital hub for dealers and integrators that takes any guesswork out of quoting, measuring, and ordering Hunter Douglas products, a process that has historically been intimidating to dealers, with so many shade styles and fabric options to consider.

Hunter Douglas Sales Tool

The easy-to-use iPad mobile selling app helps dealers discuss options with their clients including shades styles and fabrics, generate quotes easily, and track their sales. The Price Explorer tool provides quick comparisons of different Hunter Douglas options for the same window and a bevy of supporting collateral including videos and brochures to further demonstrate the variety of shade styles.

Streamlining Shades Measurement

The Link also streamlines the measurement process by allowing Hunter Douglas dealers to import window dimensions from DISTO laser measuring tools into the app. With rough measurements entered, dealers can easily generate a quote, review the quote with their customer, email a copy, and even get customer sign-off directly in the app. The robust reporting capabilities of The Link enables business owners to gain insight into sales and make business-building decisions that drive growth.

“Over the past two years, we’ve worked diligently to not only grow our Custom Integrator Program, but also enhance the benefits of taking on the smart shading category for our dealers,” said Scott Stephenson, director of product, motorization at Hunter Douglas. “The Link joins and streamlines the full package of dealer perks – from the shade power solutions to the expansive shade portfolio – into a single app that not only provides sales insight, but also focuses on honing customer relationships and simplifying the customization process. We’re looking forward to helping more dealers leverage The Link to grow sales and customer relationships.”

Enhancing Custom Integrator Program

As homeowner appetite for smart home technology increases, more custom integrators are grasping the opportunity to expand their services and solutions with automated window treatments. The Custom Integrator Program, launched in 2019 and now standing at over 350 members, provides dealers with training and access to the full Hunter Douglas product line, including sample books and presentation tools to demonstrate the quality and capabilities of the smart shades to clients.

Those interested in learning more about the CIP program or catching a live demo of The Link are invited to connect with Hunter Douglas at cip@hunterdouglas.com.

The Link iPad app is available on the Apple Store here.
