Hunter Douglas is solidifying its commitment to the custom integrator channel with an expanded library of control drivers, designed for fast, straightforward integration of PowerView Gen 3 Automation into popular home control systems.

The growing list of Hunter Douglas third-party drivers allows integrators to incorporate PowerView shades into new or existing Control4, Crestron Home, Crestron, Clare Controls, Elan, RTI, and URC systems. Drivers for Savant and Brilliant are also in development and set to be available soon.

Each of the drivers enables individual shade and scene control with reliable performance and accurate two-way feedback. The drivers, coupled with the enhanced features and improved setup process of PowerView Gen 3, make quoting, specifying and installing smart shading more versatile, appealing and simple for professionals.

Integrators can quickly and easily set up and deploy systems at any scale, with little to no custom programming required. Scenes and automations can be created and configured in the PowerView App and synchronized with the third-party apps.

To enable deep control of customized shade automations, an integrator simply includes a Hunter Douglas Gateway in their project. The Gateway serves as the communication bridge; it receives commands from a third-party driver, then transmits them to the shades to trigger automation via two-way Bluetooth Low Energy technology. The Gateway also serves as a range extender to synchronize window treatment performance throughout a home. Once setup is complete, homeowners enjoy pre-programmed scenes or trigger automations using third-party control apps, remote controls, scene controllers, or Google and Alexa voice assistants.

“As homeowners seek a cohesive smart home ecosystem, it’s essential that we support custom integrators by ensuring Hunter Douglas PowerView is compatible with the most in-demand home automation systems,” said Scott Stephenson, director of product, motorization at Hunter Douglas. “We’re committed to helping our dealers offer their clients the largest range of smart shades on the market. PowerView Gen 3 is engineered to take the guess work out of specifying smart shades and make it an easy decision to use Hunter Douglas on projects. These drivers align precisely with that goal and will lend tremendous possibilities for integrators to take advantage of the growing product line.”

Hunter Douglas offers multiple levels of support to help dealers find success in the automated shading category. Dealers that are part of the Hunter Douglas Custom Integrator Program can take advantage of sales and training tools on the Hunter Douglas dealer portal, The Link. Dealers can see these shade styles, automation solutions and additional product launches and previews in-person at CEDIA Expo 2022, Sept. 29 – Oct. 1 in Dallas, Texas (Booth 6027 & 7027).
