Founded in 2015, Josh.ai has proven that innovative technology can be borne by the custom electronics industry and that voice control, and AI specifically, are here to stay.

“The support and enthusiasm that from our integrators and others in the community has reinforced our commitment to them,” said Josh.ai CEO Alex Capecelatro. “The industry now recognizes how much magic and simplicity that voice control – when done right – can bring to a home automation experience, something that simple touch panels cannot deliver. I’m very proud of all that we have accomplished, not just as a manufacturer, but to also be recognized as an innovator in this industry.”
Josh.ai Innovations
The company has built a brand with mass-market appeal while staying true to professional installers, introducing innovative products available only to licensed dealers. To date, the company has processed more than one million voice commands through its platform.
The first Josh.ai product shipped on a Mac Mini in 2016 and was priced to be specified into the truly high-end luxury projects installed by select dealers. In 2017, Josh.ai launched the Josh Micro, bringing voice control and AI based home automation to a broader audience within the pro channel.
At the end of 2020, the added Josh Nano and Josh Core, which require hard-wired connections and rack-based components.
Josh.ai is also the owner of a number of patents for its advanced and exclusive features, such as compound commands and contextual awareness.
Privacy, Magic, and Simplicity
Beyond its exclusive natural language processing features, end-clients depend on Josh.ai for its commitment to data privacy and security. The company understands how much its clients care about sensitive information, and never shares data to external parties for sales purposes.
Josh.ai’s stance on privacy has become a key feature and differentiator among voice platforms, especially given the mass market assistants act as Trojan horses to gather user data for marketing purposes. Since Josh.ai is a solution purpose-built for home technology professionals, its focus is on providing a rich feature set and advanced capabilities that enable a magical, intuitive, and simple voice experience.
More Dealers and More Partners
To date, Josh.ai has signed on and trained more than 600 dealers spanning the United States and Canada – a number that continues to grow. This year, the company formed its first-ever President’s Club, which is a select group of integrators from our industry that serves as advisors to CEO Alex Capecelatro.
On average, when dealers add Josh.ai to their existing projects, they have been able to add anywhere from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars to their overall per project revenue, thanks to Josh.ai and the many partner integrations that can be sold with it. Since Josh.ai works seamlessly with Crestron and Control4, it can be easily layered on top and offered as a voice solution that delivers an exclusive luxury automation experience.
In addition to Crestron and Control4, other partnerships that Josh.ai has developed over the years include Lutron, Sonos, DISH, Sonance, AVPro, AudioControl, Meridian, Sony, Samsung, LG, and Barco. Thanks to these native integrations and many more, dealers also have the option to offer Josh.ai directly as a standalone automation option, depending on the client project.
