PowerShades will participate in the VISION House at Mariposa Meadows, an off-grid, self-sufficient, resilient and carbon-neutral demonstration project near Telluride, CO.

PowerShades will provide the newest version of VISION House with battery-powered, automated roller shades to highlight the role of motorized shades in generating energy savings and overall sustainability.

VISION House at Mariposa Meadows is currently nearing completion in the San Juan Mountains. It is part of the VISION House Series, which is demonstrating how to build beautiful, environmentally sustainable homes in locations across the country.

According to Ron Jones, president of Green Builder Media and VISION House owner and builder, “All the materials and products we’re featuring at Mariposa Meadows have been chosen with an eye toward energy demand minimization, as well as intelligence, beauty and resiliency.  The PowerShades automated shades exemplify our sharp focus on energy efficiency.”

PowerShades is outfitting VISION House at Mariposa Meadows with eight custom, battery-powered automated roller shades in an array of light filtering and decorative fabrics.

According to PowerShades president Ryan Chacon, “We are thrilled to be a part of this innovative, sustainable, high-performance set of beautiful residences. PowerShades’ automated shades not only offer significant energy savings but can play an important role in a complete smart home ecosystem. For us, the role our automated shades play in this project’s intelligent connectivity and interior scene-setting is almost as exciting as the incredible views of nature that our shades help welcome into these homes.”

PowerShades automated roller shades can be programmed to reduce energy costs, taking advantage of the warmth of the sun during colder days and keeping rooms cool during the heat of the summer. In fact, by setting custom schedules using PowerShades’ cloud-based control and a PowerShades remote control device or mobile app, homeowners can reduce energy consumption up to 30%.

Also, like all the technology featured in VISION House, PowerShades automated shades are designed to bring utmost convenience to the homeowner’s daily lives. When PowerShades automated shades are integrated with a smart hub and other connected devices, the VISION House homeowner will be able to set up highly customized scenes involving the shades, smart locks, thermostat, entertainment systems, and more.

“We decided to feature PowerShades automated shades throughout VISION House because they offer the convenience of cloud-based control and scene-setting,” Jones said. “What’s more, they represent a cost-effective energy management solution that is available with an incredible array of materials, colors and textures to perfectly suit our design goals.”

The VISION House at Mariposa Meadows is scheduled to open in Summer of 2023.
