Severtson Screens will feature the Ambient Light Rejection (ALR) options for their Impression Series residential and commercial projection screens during CEDIA Expo 2023, held in Denver from Sept. 7-9 at the Colorado Convention Center.
“Our customers asked for it, and we have delivered with the industry’s most advanced ALR screen,” said Toby Severtson, president and CEO of Severtson Corp. “Our new screen is both affordable and has an industry leading viewing angle versus other ALRs currently on the market today.”

Severton’s ALR has a 170-degree viewing angle and is available up to 120 inches (diagonal at 16:9 Aspect Ratio), with additional options also now available.
“With 0.8 gain, our ALR is designed specifically for situations with high ambient light,” Severtson continued. “We are proud to serve the home theater and commercial markets with the same service and quality that has taken the cinema market by storm and cemented us as the industry leader. Our new ALR screens are a continuation of this dedication to provide what our customers want, with a product that exceeds their, and the industry’s, expectations.”
Custom and standard ALR sizes are available. Severtson asks that customers contact them directly for individual pricing for their specific needs and for production and delivery timing.
Also, in response to recent shipping and logistical issues, six-piece frames will be Severtson’s new standard moving forward. This will help to reduce shipping damages and provide a better experience for its customers. The company says that the screens will be of the “same high-quality standard that the industry has come to expect” from a Severtson screen.
The change will occur gradually over the coming months as supply of four-piece frames is depleted. Four-piece frames will still be available on custom orders, with a lead time.
Finally, in recent years, the standard aspect ratios have shifted gradually wider. Movies are now almost exclusively produced at 2.39 or 2.40 aspect ratios. As a result, Severtson will be retiring the 2.35:1 aspect ratio as our standard, and migrating to 2.39:1.
Severtson’s 2.35 screens will be shipped until their supply is exhausted. Their 2.35 will still be available on custom orders, with a lead time. The prices and standard diagonal sizes will remain the same, only changing the aspect ratio. The new 2.39 drawings are currently available on our website.
