Shelly Group AD, a provider of IoT and smart building solutions based in Sofia, Bulgaria, has announced a collaboration with Harman Automotive, a global leader in connected vehicle solutions, and the owner of the global Harman Ignite Store, an integrated in-vehicle app store. The Harman Ignite Store partner ecosystem leverages collaborations across key industries to enable an expanding portfolio of content, features and increased vehicle safety and connectivity for OEM vehicles globally.

Shelly Group will further drive digitalization in the vehicles, by offering a native version of its Shelly Smart Control app through the Harman Ignite Store. Drivers and passengers can use the range of functions that the Shelly Smart Control app offers for intelligent home automation via the familiar user interface of their vehicle’s own infotainment system. The integration enables customers to execute all scenes and automations, set in their Shelly Smart Control app directly from their vehicle with a simple touch, such as automatically opening and closing the garage door, and switching the lights on and off in the garage, in other rooms, or throughout the house when coming home or leaving.

Shelly Group recently announced that its Shelly Smart Control App would be available in select Audi models and in the Audi Application Store.

The collaboration marks a milestone in Shelly Group’s strategy to offer customers in-car integration of its Shelly Smart Control app, setting the stage for the future of advanced in-car infotainment. The Harman Ignite Store gives customers access to apps from a large number of third-party manufacturers, which can be loaded directly into the infotainment system independently of their smartphone. Additional apps such as the Shelly Smart Control app are then seamlessly integrated and can also be used safely and reliably while driving.

The regular online updates of Shelly Smart Control app keep the application up to date. As the automotive industry rapidly evolves to meet the demands of modern consumers, the integration of home automation apps is becoming paramount. Shelly Group and Harman’s collaboration is centered on the shared belief that cross-industry collaboration will accelerate the consumer technology-driven transformation of the automotive industry.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with Harman on adding our solution to their portfolio of third-party applications available through the Harman Ignite Store,” said Dimitar Dimitrov, founder and CEO of Shelly Group. “With the native integration of our Shelly Smart Control app, we are further expanding our customer focus and technology leadership. We are confident that through the seamless integration of smart car and smart home through the in-vehicle app-store, customers worldwide will get a much better experience and be able to enjoy a truly digital, connected lifestyle.”
